According to Simon Sinek, the secret is in “The Why”. People don’t buy what you do, they buy why you do it.
Where most marketers fail is in the message. They focus too much on the features and the “what” and not enough time on the benefits and the “why”.

what a great little pep rally! love it. I am thinking that testimonials would help with the semi-believers…. need to work on those!
I agree with Becky that testimonials would help with the semi-believers. But the basis of Simon’s short talk is that we need to speak from our hearts and give our reasons for doing what we do. We need to take that a step further. If we listen to those we speak with, we will hear what they need. If we then ask them what we can do to help them, the natural result will then be their request for what we have to offer. That, then in turn, will help them in one of their needs. Powerful!!!
This talk was a great reminder of the importance of acting and working with our “why”, our values, up front. Simon’s examples were clear and inspiring.
